Breakly Bundles privacy policy
Last updated October 23, 2026
Breakly Bundles ("Breakly Bundles", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that adds bought-together sets, build-a-box and fixed bundles to Shopify stores. This policy explains what data the app handles. It applies to merchants who install Breakly Bundles and to the shoppers of their stores. Merchants also agree to our terms of service, which say how Breakly Bundles processes store data on their behalf.
Data the app collects from your store#
When you install Breakly Bundles, Shopify gives it access to your store's data through the permissions you approve: read and write products, write discounts, read orders, read themes and the app proxy. Breakly Bundles stores:
- Store details: your myshopify domain, currency, time zone, plan, design settings, install and uninstall dates, and the ID of the automatic discount it creates.
- Bundles: everything you set in a bundle, including its products or collection, deal, gift or shipping reward, texts and display options, and which products each bundle uses.
- Counted orders: for each order that included a Breakly bundle, the order ID and number, date, currency, total and Breakly Bundles' discount, and for each bundle in it what was paid for its items and its discount.
- Daily and monthly totals: the number of all orders and their total sales per day and per month, to compare orders with and without a bundle.
- Bundle views and adds: for each bundle and day, how many times shoppers saw its widget and added it to the cart. These are counts only, with no shopper, session or device attached.
- Webhook IDs: the IDs of Shopify's notifications, so a notification Shopify sends twice is handled once.
- Access tokens: the token Shopify issues so Breakly Bundles can call its Admin API for your store.
Breakly Bundles writes its bundle data to your products as app metafields and its design settings to your store as an app metafield, creates one automatic discount that applies bundle prices, and creates a Shopify bundle product for each fixed bundle. It reads your theme to tell you whether the bundle block is placed. To suggest products bought together, it reads which products were in your recent orders (up to 250 from the last 60 days) when you open the suggestions, and doesn't store them.
Shopper data#
Breakly Bundles doesn't store shoppers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses. When it reads an order it reads the order number, date, totals, discounts and line items, never the customer fields.
The bundle widgets run in shoppers' browsers and add bundles to your store's Shopify cart. They set no cookies. When a shopper's choice in your store's cookie banner allows analytics (Shopify's Customer Privacy API decides), they send Breakly Bundles, through your store's domain, which bundles were seen and added on the page, and nothing else: no shopper, session, device or cart details. Without that consent nothing is sent.
In the browser's storage they keep a flag when they add a free gift, so it can be removed later if the bundle is no longer complete, the cart offers a shopper dismissed during the visit, and your test-mode preview link while you use it.
Texts shoppers write for a box, such as a gift message, go into the cart with the box's items, as Shopify line item properties, and reach the order in Shopify. Breakly Bundles doesn't store them.
The box and set pages and the page of all bundles are served through your store's domain by Shopify's app proxy; Breakly Bundles receives the page request, as any website does, and doesn't store it.
How we use the data#
We use store data only to run Breakly Bundles for you: to show your bundles and apply their prices, to count bundle orders, views and adds for your analytics and your plan, and to give you support. We don't sell data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with#
- Shopify, which hosts your store and applies Breakly Bundles' discount at checkout.
- Our hosting provider, which runs Breakly Bundles' servers and database on our behalf.
We share data with others only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it#
Breakly Bundles keeps your data while the app is installed, with two limits: it deletes counted orders, with their bundle amounts, 13 full months after the month they were placed in, and it deletes webhook IDs after 30 days. Daily and monthly totals, and bundle views and adds, stay. When you uninstall, it deletes your access tokens right away and keeps your bundles so a reinstall restores them. Shopify then sends a store erasure request about 48 hours later, and Breakly Bundles deletes everything it holds for your store. Encrypted backups of the database are kept for 14 days, so deleted data leaves them within 14 days.
Your rights and privacy requests#
Shopify passes shoppers' privacy requests to Breakly Bundles. For a data request, Breakly Bundles reports how many counted orders it holds for the customer. For an erasure request, it deletes those counted orders. For a store erasure request, it deletes all of the store's data.
As a merchant you can ask us at any time for a copy of your store's data or for it to be deleted. Write to the support address below.
This website#
This website uses no cookies and no analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
Changes and contact#
If this policy changes, we update the date below and, for changes that affect how we use your data, tell merchants in the app.
