Breakly ("Breakly", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that adds quantity-break offers to Shopify stores. This policy explains what data the app and this website handle. It applies to merchants who install Breakly and to the shoppers of their stores.

Data the app collects from your store#

When you install Breakly, Shopify gives it access to your store's data through the permissions you approve: read products, write products, write discounts, read orders and read markets. Breakly stores:

Store details: your myshopify domain, currency, time zone, plan, design settings and install dates.
Offers: everything you set in an offer, including the products and collections it uses, its tiers, texts, countries and schedule.
Counted orders: for each order that used a Breakly discount, the order ID and number, date, currency, total, Breakly's discount and the offers and tiers it used.
Monthly totals: the number of all orders in a month and their total sales, to show the share of discounted orders.
Access tokens: the token Shopify issues so Breakly can call its Admin API for your store.

Breakly writes its offer data to your products as app metafields and creates one automatic discount in your store.

Shopper data#

Breakly doesn't store shoppers' names, email addresses, phone numbers or postal addresses. When it reads an order it reads the order number, date, totals, discounts and line items, never the customer fields. The storefront widget runs in shoppers' browsers without cookies and sends no data to Breakly.

How we use the data#

We use store data only to run Breakly for you: to show and apply your offers, to count discounted orders for your analytics and your plan, and to give you support. We don't sell data, and we don't use it for advertising.

Shopify, which hosts your store and runs Breakly's discount in checkout.
Our hosting provider, which runs Breakly's servers and database on our behalf.

We share data with others only if the law requires it.

How long we keep it#

Breakly keeps your data while the app is installed. When you uninstall, it deletes your sessions and product links right away. Shopify then sends a store erasure request about 48 hours later, and Breakly deletes everything it holds for your store.

Your rights and privacy requests#

Shopify passes shoppers' privacy requests to Breakly. For a data request, Breakly reports how many counted orders it holds for the customer. For an erasure request, it deletes those counted orders. For a store erasure request, it deletes all of the store's data.

As a merchant you can ask us at any time for a copy of your store's data or for it to be deleted. Write to the support address below.

This website#

This website uses no cookies and no analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.

Changes and contact#

If this policy changes, we update the date below and, for changes that affect how we use your data, tell merchants in the app.
